yusuf bahar from Turkey

So...

Hello Everyone,

I’m writing this post with both with a bit of smooth excite and impatient sorrow. I will join you all a little bit later than it was planned due to visa issues. I will try to follow the Schedule from far but with a careful attention.

My name is Yusuf and I’m from İstanbul, Turkey. I’m 24. I have studied Cinema in the fine arts university and for long while now I have worked both in the movie making field and film festivals. I am also one of the creators of international culture project located in İstanbul called KATADROM.  I will do my voluntary service in the organization KINOBUSS. The activities of the project will be again connected to movie education, activities and opportunities. I must admit that I’m looking forward to start this period of new experiences, responsibilities, hard working and of course some fun.

I believe that my time in Estonia will be quite a unique experience. As it’s already mentioned, I also have been asked through my friends about Why Estonia. First of all, before I decided to Estonia I have made my choice with Kinobuss. A very precious and elegant project that I have found on internet by chance. Than for sure I thought of how it’s probably going to be in Tallinn and I told myself after living in a c,ty with 18 million inhabitants for all my life, yes, it’s going to be peacefull and very much productive indeed.

I can’t wait to meet you all. And of course with dear Kai who worked really hard with all those problems I’m having here to come over there and join my project.

I hope you all will have a perfect beginning.

Best Regards.

Yusuf BAHAR

Olá!

My name is Tânia, I am 24 years old and I am from Portugal . I will be working as a volunteer in JUKS, an organisation that works with youths with disabilities, in Tallinn for a period of 9 months.
I recently finished my degree in social work and I believe that this will be a great opportunity to develop my professional and personal skills and to be able to help other as well, especially learning with them.

This is not my first experience abroad; I lived in Romania and in Czech Republic before, where I had the opportunity to work with young people at risk of social exclusion.  I was a peer mentor and helped to prepare free time activities for the young people.
I am looking forward to meet you all and be able to learn with you and hopefully also allow you to have the opportunity to learn a bit more about my country and culture.
See you soon….

Tânia

Hey guys,
my name is Christin, I am from Germany and 19 years old. As I have worked for our Child Protection Agency the last 2 years as volunteer and just finished High School this summer, I decided to take a gap year and continue my work with a „full time“ voluntary service.

In Estonia, I will spend 9 months directly in Tallinn where I will work in the Käo Day Care Centre for adults. Why did I chose Estonia? I guess because I wanted to go somewhere else than the typical „gap year“ countries like Spain or the UK. I bet you all know that people ask why in hell you wanted to go to Estonia ;).

So, I am quite excited to meet you all in Tallinn in just a bit more than 1(!) week. Let’s make the best of our time during the EVS!
Best whishes,
Christin

seeds in action

Hey there!

I'm Varduhi from Armenia, Yerevan. I'll be volunteering at Muumipere Kindergarten for 9 months for what I'm very happy.

A few words about myself: I'm a Philologist, I've worked at the Linguistic University as an English teacher, and I've also worked, and still I'm a member of an NGO that works with children from vulnerable families and  from orphanages providing them with non-formal education, organizing different events (sport events, excursions, art-craft exhibitions, and suchlike) with children.

I hope my participation in this project will be of great help, and I'll contribute to the work of the kindergarten.

I'm sure we will make good friends together with other volunteers. So looking forward to meeting you all there, in Estonia.

Warm greetings,
Varduhi
